As the stigma of male grooming falls away with each passing year, there is a larger and larger population of men who are interested in going to a spa for a multitude of services, including waxing, beard tinting and/or bleaching, brow lamination, and even lash lifts!
This is a wide population that is largely untapped at this time. If you tweak your marketing and your menu, you can really tap into a loyal, mostly virgin client base!
Men have proven to be some of the most loyal clients. For starters, they may still feel a little bit uncomfortable when coming in for a service. If you make them feel welcome, heard, and educated (not to mention offer them a phenomenal service!), they will feel loyal to you, and will rarely look elsewhere for someone else to perform the same services.
Another aspect of offering men’s services surrounds their retail habits. Men, again, are largely loyal. If you get them hooked on a product or two (or more), they will rarely go looking for the same product elsewhere. They know they get their moisturizer and eye serum from you, those items make them look attractive and feel more comfortable in their own skin, and they will continue to come to you to purchase that item.
Does it seem like a huge undertaking to try to bring in male clientele? Start simple. Offer a specific menu tailored to men’s services. Use photography with males in your marketing. Talk to your current loyal clients, and offer specials if they bring the males in their life in for a treatment.
Now is a great time to start tapping into this new client base!
