Massage Oil: Warm or Cold?

Personally, the feeling of warmed massage oil is one of my favorite things. As a massage therapist with perpetually cold hands, having warmed oil was a need. There is nothing worse for a therapist and the client, than a cold hand to start the massage. It’s startling to the client and kills the relaxation process before it starts.

Something as simple as an bottle warmer like the ProMaster Massage Oil & Lotion Warmer can make all the difference in the world clients. Even if you don’t suffer from cold hands, many clients will simply love the feel of warm oil on their skin!

Easily Build Client Loyalty

With new businesses in the industry seeming to open on every corner, it can feel overwhelming to set yourself apart from the competition. Establishing a great relationship with your clients so they become life-long patrons is key. It’s great to have rushes during holidays, however, the life-long client is worth more in the long run than the 2 or 3 time a year client.

Always be checking out what’s new in the industry as far as new products, new ingredients, trends and what client’s are excited for. Being on top of these trends will keep you relevant in an ever changing industry. Also, be sure to keep an eye out on new technology, equipment, and treatments that are popping up.

Look for ways to engage your clients with loyalty programs, packages, referral incentives…the sky is the limit on this one. Look through websites to see what the fun unofficial month/day celebration is (like National Flip Flop Day!) Things like that provide an opportunity to create one day specials that are fun and enticing. Your clients will always be wondering what fun new special you’ll be offering next….and tell their friends!

Finally, one of the most important keys is trust. If your clients feel that you truly care about their needs and you offer support and sound advice, they will stick with you.

Help Your Clients See Better Results After Every Treatment

I hear from quite a few moms to be that their massage therapy office cannot accommodate them once they start to gain some baby weight. This blows my mind!

Easing Your Clients’ Allergies and Increasing Profit!!!

Depending on where you live, you may have noticed more and more people sneezing and rubbing their eyes. The dreaded allergy season is upon many of us here and it’s driving everyone nuts!

A great way to increase revenue is by simply offering an allergy season add-on to your current treatment menu.

Essential oils are an extremely cost effective way to provide additional benefits to your clients especially those suffering from allergies.

The following essential oils are great for providing much needed relief from itchy watery eyes, sneezing and congestion:

ESS Globulus Eucalyptus Pure Essential Oil
Eucalyptus is a great multipurpose oil that has been shown to have anti inflammatory properties. It works wonders on congestion, headaches and aids in breathing.

ESS Peppermint Pure Essential Oil
Peppermint is also great for opening up the sinuses and easing headaches.

ESS® Pure Essential Lemon Oil
Lemon is particularly good for beating those winter blues and helping clear out allergy issues. It also has antibacterial properties!

ESS® Cypress Pure Essential Oil
This lesser known oil is amazing for chest ailments to help ease breathing and suppress coughing fits.

If you are looking for one big allergy blend to either market within an existing facial or to make a great allergy massage oil, mix lavender, lemon and peppermint! It creates an amazing aroma that may produce instant relief for allergy symptoms!

The possibilities to incorporate and market an allergy relief special can be as unique as you and your business are! Once your clients feel the added benefit of these oils you can also retail the oils!

Anti Aging…Photo Finish!

I read an article yesterday where a spa market research company compiled information relating to client trends, likes and desires. Continuing is the trend of non-surgical and non-invasive treatments to help turn back the wrinkles of time.

These non surgical treatments are well worth the initial investments due to how quickly many of the results can be seen, as well as the potential profits by selling the treatment in packages.

While there are many different types of non-surgical options out there for use in facials, one that I see many people overlooking is IPL – aka intense pulse laser or photo rejuvenation. This treatment allows you to address such concerns as some pigmentation issues, fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scarring and cellulite. I can name someone I know who experiences one or more of these concerns and none have ever heard of IPL- this again is where as a technician or owner, educating your clients is key. Aside from an increased profit from them trying new techniques (with great results), the loyalty increases when they know you care about their concerns and aren’t just trying to sell them facials or random add-ons.

Ok so, the actual IPL units…here are a few with some great information in the description for you to get acquainted with.

LED Light Therapy Photo Rejuvination by SkinMate
Spa Masters Photon Skin Care Device

This is the Grand Daddy of IPL…..you won’t find a better more complete unit from a leader in the industry.
Trios™ IPL Advanced Phototherapy System

If you are looking to set yourself apart from your competitors, this is a great way to add a treatment in to amaze your clients with above average results.
