Stress Relief For Med Spas, Dental Offices & More!

Over the last few years, I’ve seen amazing growth in the medical niche of the industry embracing more spa like services in their businesses. From cancer centers offering aromatherapy pens or scented warm towels to ease everything from anxiety to nausea to dental offices offering heated mitts, booties and warm herbal wraps – more and more offices are going the extra mile to stand out and above from their competition.

You don’t have to break the bank or come up with extravagant ground breaking ways to provide exceptional comfort to anxious clients or those who will be in the office for extended periods of time. For example: for less than $1.60 per treatment, you can offer an Eco Fin treatment; an all natural paraffin alternative hand or foot treatment that will soften skin with a variety of scents to help clients
ease into a state of relaxation.

Interested but not sure what would best fit or be incorporated into your specific business? Give us a call, chat with us or send a message– we’re happy to help!

Essential Oils for Stress

While stress is always common in our lives, stress today is at an all-time high. Whether you have reopened or are planning to reopen soon, this can help – both you and your clients!

Ylang Ylang works to calm the nervous system. It regulates cardiac and respiratory rhythm while soothing anger and physical pain. The oil also replaces feelings of anxiety with positivity.

Chamomile has a sweet floral aroma that soothes the body and mind.

Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils. It has been clinically evaluated for its relaxing effects. The fragrance is calming, relaxing, and balancing- both physically and emotionally.

If you have not yet reopened, offer curbside pickup retail sales, including essential oils. Your loyal clients want to support you and your business as much as possible – they will love this idea!

If you have reopened, or are planning your reopening, there are many ways to incorporate essential oils into your services. Whether it9s offering your clients a warm towel with a few drops of an oil or offering an aromatherapy massage, both the provider and clients will reap the rewards.

Aromatherapy Spotlight: Frankincense

Stress and tension are major problems today. Adults are so caught up with work, family, and other obligations that often times they forget to take care of themselves. That’s where you come in!

Spas, salons, wellness centers, doctors offices, and other businesses are used as a form of self-care. Your clients are leaving their services refreshed, re-energized, and happy! But how can you help create these positive emotions and ensure they will return?

Try aromatherapy! These scents will resonate with your clients, and they will trigger a good memory!

One of the most soothing essential oils is frankincense. It actively slows down your breathing and allows you to take longer and deeper breaths. This helps you alleviate fear, anxiety, nervous tension, and stress.

Frankincense is recommended especially for dry, sensitive, or mature skin. It helps rejuvenate skin tone and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

My favorite brand is ESS® Frankincense Pure Essential Oil

Pro tip: Diffuse in your waxing studio, medispa, or doctors office to help relax clients who may be nervous about a service or procedure.

Burn Baby Burn—Tips For Massage Therapist To Avoid Burnout

Every massage therapist I know, myself included, has experienced massage burnout on some level. Whether taking too many clients during the day/week or just not ever taking time off for themselves. I know therapists who pushed and pushed to the point where not only did they suffer the physical stresses of burnout, but they fell out of love with performing massage in any capacity.

We all learned about self care in school, are you practicing? How often do you take time for yourself?
Are you utilizing any “helper” tools during your massages to help with any soreness you may be experiencing?

In order to give our best work, we must be in our best condition!

Here are some self care tools and helper tools to aid in combating massage hangovers:

* TAKE BREAKS!!! always try to schedule enough time between clients to recharge, have a snack, take a quick walk
*Receive regular massage…this is very important!!!
