Cold Hands and Your Sales

As a perpetually cold person, having someone touch my skin with cold hands is startling and uncomfortable.

Any time I received a massage and the therapist had cold hands, that was the last time I went there. Harsh, I know, but true. That initial jolt of cold when the opening effleurage started, would amp every nerve in my body up and I would spend the rest of the time trying to get back to a relaxed state. It ruined the massage for me.

Do you have clients who are sensitive to cold? Are your clients coming in for any sort of treatment that may cause relaxation? Do you simply want to provide the most comfortable and memorable experience for each of your clients?

Bottle warmers are such an easy and effective way to keep lotions and oils at the perfect temperature to have your clients breathing sighs of relief the moment it hits their skin. From single bottle warmers all the way up to four bottle capacity, you’ll always be ready to go.

Easily Build Client Loyalty

With new businesses in the industry seeming to open on every corner, it can feel overwhelming to set yourself apart from the competition. Establishing a great relationship with your clients so they become life-long patrons is key. It’s great to have rushes during holidays, however, the life-long client is worth more in the long run than the 2 or 3 time a year client.

Always be checking out what’s new in the industry as far as new products, new ingredients, trends and what client’s are excited for. Being on top of these trends will keep you relevant in an ever changing industry. Also, be sure to keep an eye out on new technology, equipment, and treatments that are popping up.

Look for ways to engage your clients with loyalty programs, packages, referral incentives…the sky is the limit on this one. Look through websites to see what the fun unofficial month/day celebration is (like National Flip Flop Day!) Things like that provide an opportunity to create one day specials that are fun and enticing. Your clients will always be wondering what fun new special you’ll be offering next….and tell their friends!

Finally, one of the most important keys is trust. If your clients feel that you truly care about their needs and you offer support and sound advice, they will stick with you.

Product Of The Week: June Jacobs Brightening Moisturizer

The recommendation I’ve been asked for multiple times each day this week so far, is for a moisturizer. Dry, aging skin are on the forefront of client concerns.

My mother called me a week or so ago complaining that she just can’t find an effective moisturizer that brightens. She said she had tried multiple ones that were okay but none seemed to brighten. Now my mother is in her 70’s and isn’t up on ingredients and things like that. She is the client who just needs recommendations from someone she trusts. How many of your clients are the same?
I sent her a bottle of the June Jacobs Brightening Moisturizer as a surprise. She noticed from the start that it just felt nicer when she put it on. She enjoyed not having to slather it on (a little goes a long way with June Jacobs products!) and how fresh it felt. She called me after 4 uses excited as her skin was no longer dry, and it was brighter already.
Paraben and preservative free, lactic acid for gentle exfoliation, combines with sweet almond oil and shea butter for the hydrating effects. Lemon peel extract rejuvenates and increases the luster of tired skin, while bearberry root, mulberry root, licorice extract and Gigawhite™ act as natural lightening agents to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. What that all means is your clients get a one-two punch of goodness leaving their skin soft, supple and looking younger!
I’m sharing this quick story as it is important to always be aware of who your clients are, not just what is going on with their skin. We may forget, as professionals immersed in the industry, that not everyone knows what may seem “novice” or “basic” terms, products or ingredients.
Test this out on yourself, your VIP clients or bring in a few to get clients feedback.

Got Tape?

Kinesiology tape is a phenomenal, and often under used tool to help relieve client pain, and as a self care tool for therapists.

The widespread use of kinesiology tape on professional athletes and physical therapy offices has made it much easier to talk to clients about. Aside from physical therapists, many massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and wellness workers have successfully incorporated it into their treatment plans to help alleviate pain, improve posture and stability.

It is also valuable as a self care tool to help with everything from hip and back pain to De Quervain’s thumb!
