Massage Oil: Warm or Cold?

Personally, the feeling of warmed massage oil is one of my favorite things. As a massage therapist with perpetually cold hands, having warmed oil was a need. There is nothing worse for a therapist and the client, than a cold hand to start the massage. It’s startling to the client and kills the relaxation process before it starts.

Something as simple as an bottle warmer like the ProMaster Massage Oil & Lotion Warmer can make all the difference in the world clients. Even if you don’t suffer from cold hands, many clients will simply love the feel of warm oil on their skin!

The Aqua Thermassage is a heated, dry hydro therapy unit that contains 6 rotating hydrojets strategically placed from the cervical spine to the sacrum. There are six additional jets located in the leg area.

The patient lies, clothed and dry, upon a water filled full-body length tank. As patient floats upon the table, pressurized water is pumped to the 12 jets producing a vigorous, rotating hydro massage. The combination of flotation, heat and massage induce a state of total relaxation that has to be experienced to believe.

A 10 to 15 minute session on our table reduces muscle spasm and helps lower stress levels in patients. The level of relaxation induced by using The Aqua Thermassage is perfect for pre-chiropractic treatment use.

Most patients are more compliant and easier to adjust after using The Aqua Thermassage.

Bubbling Bath Salts!

Clients can experience the best of both bath worlds at once – bubble bath and bath salts! I am a huge fan of salt baths and bath bombs as are many other “shoppers” out there. Are you currently retailing bath products to clients?

Kneipp Bubbling Mineral Bath Salts can be just the summer boost to those retail sales! Kneipp products contain plant-based functional ingredients. No paraffin, silicone, mineral oils, or animal testing, are dermatologist tested and recommended!

Prenatal Massage Must Have

I can’t think of anybody who needs a massage more than a pregnant woman! Growing another human is exhausting and painful! How are you helping your expecting mothers get comfortable and receive the best possible services?

Positioning, pillows, and cushions are used to enhance support, decrease pressure and increase relaxation for both body and mind. Mother and baby share in the benefits as stress and tension melt
away, leaving you feeling balanced and energized.

Relief of stress on feet, ankles, lower back, and neck, as well as reducing swelling, are all benefits of a Prenatal Massage.

From tables to cushions we have it all to make sure you are prepared! However, if there was only one thing I could recommend it is this product!

Pregnancy Cushion and Headrest by Earthlite

When you are pregnant sleeping get more difficult as time progresses. If you are a stomach sleeper like me, you will really miss being able to lay on your stomach. Being able to do that during a massage after months of sleeping on your side, is a luxury for a woman who is expecting.

A proven unique support cushion for any stage of pregnancy and anyone who can9t lie comfortably on their stomach. Its patented design is also great for clients who have recently had breast surgery or suffer from lower back problems!

Pro Tip: Make sure you have wraps and robes for your client in a larger size too! While pregnancy is portrayed to be magical, that’s not always how you feel. If a pregnant (or even larger) client put on a wrap or robe that doesn’t close, they may not be able to relax or let it go!

My suggestion is any wraps or robes by Boca Terry! They are super luxurious and come in an assortment of sizes for your clients!

Music To Your Ears – New Spa Music!

Are you getting tired of hearing the same music day to day, week to week regardless of how many times you rotate your collection? Have you checked in with your clients lately to get their thoughts on the music?

Personally, I get tired of hearing the same music over and over. I would change my cd’s almost obsessively. I also didn’t want my clients who were coming in a few times a week or weekly to get bored with it either.

Here are the newest additions that may just breathe new life not only to your music collection, but to the overall vibe in the area!

There’s No Place Like Ohm
Spa Music by David Michael

Here are some others you may not have seen before:

Client Comfort: Eye Masks

It’s no secret client comfort is key. You’ve put time, money and thought into everything from the treatment tables to the aromatherapy choices in your space. It’s also no secret that it is the little things that can have a drastic impact on client satisfaction. Something seemingly small can be what makes a client stick with you over your competition and you may never even know.

While herbal eye masks are generally thought of as a comfort or “nice touch” to offer with services, for a person with light sensitivity or eye issues/discomfort, it can be a game changer. For less than a dollar, you can offer something like the Satin Eye Mask by Scalpmaster for a client to use during many different services (some you may not even think necessary to offer!) and you may just be taking the service to a level you never dreamed for that client. They may feel awkward or uncomfortable making a request for a “sleep mask” or not know it could be an option. You don’t even need to go into anything more than “would you like an eye mask for added comfort and relaxation?” to give them an option!

What if you could bring peace and relaxation to your clients like they have never experienced before? Now you can with flotation therapy. Imagine where the mind could go and how healing would come if one could completely quiet the body. In a Royal Spa Float Tank, clients are treated to an amazing weightless experience.
